Insurance Account Representative – Customer Onboarding & Retention

Dakota Andrews State Farm is looking for a personable, motivated team member to join our agency in a hybrid Customer Onboarding & Account Development role.

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys building relationships with customers, helping people understand their insurance coverage, and identifying opportunities to better protect their household. You'll work with both new and existing customers through onboarding appointments, policy reviews, service conversations, and proactive outreach.

This is not just a customer service position — we're looking for someone who can provide excellent service while also recognizing opportunities to deepen customer relationships and help customers with additional insurance and financial service needs.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct onboarding appointments with new customers and help them understand their policies and coverage

  • Complete approximately 3 scheduled onboarding appointments per day

  • Review customer accounts and identify potential gaps in coverage

  • Educate customers on available insurance and financial products based on their needs

  • Make outbound calls to existing customers for policy reviews, follow-up, and account development

  • Assist with incoming customer calls, including general billing and service questions

  • Use service conversations as an opportunity to conduct quick account reviews and identify additional needs

  • Discuss additional protection options such as life insurance, health products, income protection, and other available products when appropriate

  • Schedule appointments for customers interested in additional insurance or financial services

  • Maintain accurate documentation and complete required account information

  • Ask satisfied customers for Google reviews and help create a great overall customer experience

  • Work closely with the rest of the agency team to meet individual and office goals

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is

  • Friendly, confident, and comfortable talking with customers

  • Able to build rapport quickly over the phone

  • Comfortable asking questions and making product recommendations

  • Sales-minded while still providing a great customer experience

  • Organized and able to manage scheduled appointments and daily follow-up

  • Self-motivated and comfortable working toward measurable goals

  • Dependable and consistent

  • Comfortable handling both customer service and sales conversations

  • Willing to learn multiple insurance and financial product lines

  • Able to recognize opportunities rather than simply completing the immediate customer request

Previous insurance or sales experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly/base pay

  • Commission and performance incentive opportunities

  • Additional earning potential based on individual production and account development

  • Licensing reimbursement may be available

Licensing

Property & Casualty licensing is required for this position. Life & Health licensing may also be required. Licensing requirements and timelines will be discussed during the interview process.

Why This Role Is Different

This role gives you the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with customers rather than focusing solely on new-business sales. You'll help customers understand what they have, uncover what they may be missing, and make recommendations that can better protect their families.

If you're someone who enjoys talking with people, solving problems, and finding opportunities to help customers while earning additional income based on your performance, we'd love to talk with you.

Compensation $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
